AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
STATEMENT
Mini-World Child Care
Centers, accepts children without regard to race, creed, color, sex,
national origin or religion. We do accept children with disabilities, on
a case by case basis.
GOALS and PHILOSOPHY
Mini-World is concerned
with the development of the whole child: physically, mentally and
emotionally. We feel that these years of life are the most important and
formative.
SIXTEEN MONTHS
through age FOUR YEARS
Learning facts is not
the main developmental task or primary concern at this age level.
Our primary concern is to create an environment for the child to
explore and learn with members of his/her peer group; to develop
his/her facilities in dealing with a child’s world, to promote self
esteem, language development and social skills.
PRE-SCHOOL:
FOUR and FIVE YEAR OLDS
This program is
coordinated with the Kindergarten child in mind. We strive to build
a strong classroom environment and structure, enabling him/her to
develop academically as an individual and as a class. We feel our
per-kindergarten readiness skills are unequaled.
SCHOOL-AGE -
KINDERGARTEN through GRADE SIX
Our philosophy
concerning school-age children differs greatly from most child care
centers. We feel these children have been in a structured school
setting ALL DAY and when they arrive at Mini-World, in the
afternoon, this should be a time of freedom to move about,
socialize, visit and play with their friends. For those wanting or
required to do homework, a designated, relatively quiet area is
provided. A staff member shall be assigned to the homework room for
assistance, if needed.
